The City of Waco invites the community to a memorial ceremony honoring Pearl Harbor Day and the legacy of hometown hero Doris Miller. The event will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the Doris Miller Memorial in Bledsoe-Miller Park, located at 300 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Waco, Texas.

Event Details:

  • Time: 11:55 AM

  • Location: Doris Miller Memorial, Bledsoe-Miller Park

This solemn occasion will feature members of the Miller family in attendance as we commemorate the bravery and heroism of Doris Miller, whose actions went above and beyond the call of duty during World War II.

The ceremony is open to all, offering a meaningful opportunity to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II, as well as to recognize the sacrifices and service of veterans and active-duty military personnel from past and present conflicts.

Participants who wish to pay tribute may bring wreaths to lay during the ceremony.

Join us as we come together to remember and reflect on the courage of Doris Miller and all those who have served our nation with valor.
